Eyelash Lift Near Me: Eyelash Keratin Lifting Aftercare for the First 48 Hours + Week
By All Love Collections (Old Town Pasadena) | July 31, 2026
Playhouse District / Old Pasadena, downtown Pasadena near Fair Oaks Ave and Colorado Blvd
The single most important rule after Eyelash Keratin Lifting is simple: keep your lashes completely dry for 24 to 48 hours. We hear it all the time in our space, which people describe as warm and relaxing, and that “beautiful lash lift” feeling is exactly what we want you to protect. The keratin is still setting during that first window, so a little steam or an oil-based remover can undo the shape faster than you think.
First 24 to 48 hours: keep the keratin lift set (no water, no steam)
If you only remember one thing: dry lashes for 24 to 48 hours. That means no shower spray on the face, no steam, and no “just a little rinse.”
Right after your keratin lash lift, we generally recommend treating your lashes like fresh brows after lamination: hands off and keep them dry. In Old Pasadena and the Playhouse District, a lot of our clients head straight to dinner, theater nights, or outdoor events. That’s great. Just keep your face out of mist, heaters, and steamy patios for the first day or two.
Do this in the first two days
- Sleep on your back if you can. Side sleeping can press lashes into a weird shape while they’re still setting.
- Keep makeup minimal around the eyes. If you do eye makeup, keep it away from the lash line.
- If your lashes feel a little “stiff, ” leave them alone. That usually settles as everything finishes setting.
Avoid these common result-killers
- Water and steam: showers to the face, facial steaming, saunas, hot yoga, and sitting over a hot pot at dinner.
- Mascara: skip it for the first 48 hours. Even “gentle” formulas can tug during removal.
- Oil-based anything: cleansing balms, coconut oil, and oil-based eye makeup remover can break down the keratin lift faster.
- Mechanical eyelash curlers: don’t use them. The lift is already there, and curlers can crease or snap the shape.
Days 3 to 7: keep the lift crisp during Pasadena heat, workouts, and events
After 48 hours, you can go back to normal life, just a bit smarter. Pasadena summers are warm and dry, and we’re outside a lot. Sweat, sunscreen, and dust from being out and about can build up at the lash line, so gentle cleansing matters if you want that “I’m in awe with my results” look to last.
Gentle cleansing, the right way
Use a water-based cleanser around the eyes. Clean with your fingertips, not a rough washcloth. Rinse well and pat dry. Then let lashes air-dry fully before you brush them.
Swimming and hot tubs (give it 48 to 72 hours)
Chlorine and salt can weaken the lift if you jump in too soon. We generally recommend waiting 48 to 72 hours before swimming, hot tubs, or anything that soaks lashes for a long stretch. If you’re heading to a pool day in Glendale, Arcadia, or La Cañada Flintridge, rinse your face afterward and cleanse the lash line that night.
Products that keep your keratin lash lift looking “so smooth”
A keratin lash lift is already low-maintenance, which is why busy commuters and event-goers love it. The trick is picking products that don’t fight the lift.
Keep it simple for the first week
- Cleanser: water-based lash cleanser or a gentle, oil-free face cleanser used carefully around the eyes.
- Serum: if you use one, stick to lash-safe, water-based formulas. Avoid anything oily at the lash line.
- Mascara: after 48 hours, regular (not waterproof) mascara is usually easiest. Waterproof formulas tend to need stronger removal and more rubbing.
- Tools: brush daily with a clean spoolie. No heated tools, no lash curlers.
And a quick note if you’ve had a bad experience elsewhere: we’ve had people come in after getting their lashes burned off at another place, so we’re extra big on gentle habits at home. Rubbing and harsh removers are usually the first things to go.
If something feels off, reach out to our Old Pasadena team (we’re friendly, not pushy)
Most of the time, your lift just settles in and you enjoy it. If you notice irritation that doesn’t calm down, lashes that look crimped after sleeping on them, or you got them wet in the first day and the curl dropped, let us know. We’ll talk it through and tell you what we’d do next.
"At the end they will see if you want to buy the products they used - you can say no, they aren’t too pushy with it."
one of our regulars
Our Eyelash Keratin Lifting appointment is 75 minutes and it’s $110. It enhances the appearance of your natural eyelashes by curling and lifting them, so you can skip the daily curler and still feel camera-ready for dinners on Colorado Blvd or a quick photo outside the theater.
Plan on maintenance every 6 to 8 weeks. That timing usually keeps the lift looking clean as your natural lash cycle moves through.
